Kourtney Browatzke RPP
Registered Provisional Psychologist (RPP)
I specialize in supporting adults as they develop healthier coping strategies and discover more effective ways to overcome challenges.
Through both personal and professional experience, I’ve come to understand that mental health challenges can feel heavy and have deep, lasting impacts across all areas of life. I also recognize how factors such as relationship difficulties, workplace stress, environmental influences, and limited social support can contribute to and intensify these struggles.
I work collaboratively with adults who are dealing with loneliness, disconnection, relationship challenges, life or work-related stress, adult bullying or harassment, emotional ups and downs, burnout, unhealthy coping habits, anxiety, depression, and anger.
Before transitioning into the mental health field, I spent several years working in the oil and gas industry. That experience gave me a unique understanding of how workplace culture and industry pressures can impact mental health. I’m especially passionate about supporting men and women who are navigating challenging work environments, job loss, difficult relationships at work, harassment or bullying, toxic workplaces, major life transitions, separation, divorce, and more.
I’m committed to creating a confidential and supportive space where you feel safe, understood, and empowered to work through the challenges you’re facing.
It takes courage to decide to engage in therapy.
Seeking help is not a sign of weakness, and you don’t have to face struggles alone. Together, we will explore the areas where you feel stuck, gain a deeper understanding of your thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and reactions, and make sense of life’s challenges. We’ll develop new coping strategies and work toward your goals, next steps, or solutions.
Choosing to make positive changes, manage life differently, and learn new tools can be life-changing, bringing clarity and confidence. Core beliefs—whether conscious or unconscious—about yourself and others can create mental blocks that hold you back from growth and healing. In therapy, we’ll address these blocks to help you build forward momentum.
Often, the difference between knowing something and applying it can feel daunting. But breaking old, ineffective patterns and developing healthier strategies is possible. I’m here to support you through whatever challenges you’re facing.
“The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step” Lao Tzu.
You are not alone on your mental health journey.
My therapeutic approach is eclectic, tailored to the unique circumstances and needs of each individual. By integrating techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Self-Compassion, Somatic Therapy, Positive Psychology, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Trauma-Focused Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (TFACT), we will work together to heal from past challenges and develop effective strategies, coping skills, and tools.
My goal is to collaborate closely with you, meeting you where you are, to achieve meaningful, result-driven outcomes. Understanding the strategies and steps needed to reach your goals is key, and together we can make that progress.
I am currently enrolled in a doctoral program, which allows me to stay updated with the latest research, enhancing my understanding of people’s lived experiences. You can expect an authentic, honest, and strengths-based therapeutic process, where we’ll explore vulnerability, face challenges, and work toward meaningful change.

Carly Bruce CCC
Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC)
I am a counsellor who specializes in working with adults and couples on concerns regarding sex, sexuality, identity, and relationships.
I have dedicated myself to learning about the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, kink, sex toys, sexual health concerns, sexual trauma, and a wide range of other topics related to sex and relationships. This ongoing commitment to further my competency has only deepened my passion for helping people embrace their identities and reconnect with their bodies and sexuality in meaningful, empowering ways.
I recognize how difficult it can be to navigate your relationship with yourself—and with your partners—in a society that often sends mixed and contradictory messages about sex and relationships. My goal is to help you sift through all that messaging to find out what truly resonates with you and to help you explore that.
My therapeutic approach is person-centered and relational. I believe in the importance of your input and in building a strong therapeutic relationship grounded in trust, safety, and mutual understanding. In our work together, I’ll begin by getting to know you—your goals, concerns, and support system. Once I know more about your journey to therapy, we can collaborate on a plan to help you move toward living the life you want to live.
Whether you are an individual, couple, or have multiple partners, I am happy to help you.
I draw from a variety of therapeutic modalities including Gottman Method, Emotion Focused Therapy, Polyvagal Theory, Narrative Therapy, and Mindfulness. I integrate these approaches with psychoeducation around kink, sexual health, sex toys, and ethical non-monogamy.
I am sex-positive, kink-informed, trauma-informed, and committed to helping dismantle any shame, stigma, or misinformation you may be encountering.
I know that talking about sex or relationship challenges—especially with a stranger—can feel incredibly vulnerable. Just reaching out to a therapist for these issues is a big and courageous step, and I would be honoured to walk alongside you on this journey. I often bring humour into my sessions when appropriate, and am happy to pull from my bin of demo sex toys for additional visual aid and education.
For many people, this may be the first time they’ve ever said certain things out loud to another individual. Know that I deeply respect the weight of that. I’m not here to judge or tell you what you should or shouldn’t enjoy in your sex life. I’m here to help you discover what feels authentic to you, and how to build meaningful, connected experiences around that.
While sexual concerns are a major focus of my work, I also support clients through a range of other relational and individual challenges.
If you feel like you and your partner(s) are having the same argument over and over again, struggling with mismatched libidos or interests, stuck in an unfulfilling routine, or feeling disconnected in your communication—I can help. Together, we can identify the patterns that aren’t serving you, and create new ways of relating that feel more connected, satisfying, and true to who you are.
I have borne witness to real change with my clients when it comes to connecting with their partners, dismantling old ideas about what sex “should be”, growing beyond past traumas, and learning to embrace their sexual journey.
The dedication, strength, and determination of will that I get to help grow in my clients has always been incredibly inspirational to me. It is one of my greatest honours to walk alongside people as they grow into the strong, resilient, and confident individuals they are meant to be and is something I will always hold near to my heart.
When I’m not in the therapy space I can be found dancing, learning, enjoying a meal with friends, or hanging out with my cat (her name is Norra). I am a proud member of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and continue to be an advocate for it. I consider myself to be a bit of an ambivert—I love connecting with people and getting out of the house to try new things, but I also adore just lazing around at home and staying cozy.
I am incredibly proud of the life I continue to create for myself—one of finding contentment in the slow moments, cherishing the connections with those I hold close in my life, being the “crazy sex lady” that all my friends feel comfortable asking about sex, and getting to do the work I’ve always wanted to do.

Ashley Cavers-Paproski MHT
Mental Health Therapist (MHT)
This designation is NOT covered under ANY insurance plans.
I work with adults and youth aged 13 and up.
I’ve been working as a social worker for over 15 years, with the majority of my experience focused on supporting adults, children, youth, and families within the context of child intervention. Throughout this work, I’ve come to deeply understand how adverse childhood experiences can profoundly impact a person’s psychological and physical well-being over time.
These insights and experiences continue to shape my approach as a therapist, allowing me to provide compassionate, informed support to my clients. Challenges such as abuse, neglect, mental illness, addiction, loss, grief, violence, and intergenerational trauma can create toxic stress in the body—an overactivation of the stress-response system that can result in lasting effects on both the brain and body.
I’m passionate about supporting children, youth, and adults through a trauma-informed approach.
Trauma can show up in many different ways—such as hypervigilance, difficulties with relationships and attachment, low self-esteem, lack of trust, trouble opening up to others, and dissociation. It often shifts a person’s worldview, leading to avoidance of certain people or places, and ultimately, isolation. There is no single event that can fully capture what causes trauma. Each individual’s experience, perception, and the impact of the traumatic event(s) are deeply personal and unique. #####I believe that every person is a valued and inclusive member of society, and as a counsellor, it is essential to empower individuals to reach their full potential. Navigating the justice system, collaborating with agency partners, and advocating for individuals can be daunting without proper support. Larger systems have historically marginalized certain populations, creating power and privilege imbalances within social groups. Anti-oppressive practice is a broad approach that focuses on addressing these power disparities by equipping individuals with the tools to better understand how power and privilege function at various levels within society. I resonate with the belief that the development and implementation of programs and practices can positively shift societal dynamics, ultimately reducing oppression. #####I value a holistic counselling approach because it treats the individual as a whole, fostering compassion and a non-judgmental environment, rather than simply addressing specific issues and symptoms. The integrative approach of holistic counselling recognizes the interconnectedness of a person’s physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being. It encourages self-awareness and self-empowerment by exploring various aspects of a person’s life, helping them gain a deeper understanding of themselves and their place in the world. Through my professional experiences, I’ve observed that increased self-awareness enables individuals to cultivate a stronger sense of purpose and fulfillment. This awareness empowers them to make informed decisions, establish healthy boundaries, and build more meaningful relationships. By addressing these aspects, holistic counselling can reduce stress, anxiety, and depression, ultimately improving one’s overall quality of life. Additionally, holistic counselling can have a lasting positive impact, as it equips individuals with strategies—such as mindfulness, stress management techniques, effective communication, and self-care routines—that can be applied across various areas of their lives.
I have a deep fascination with body-centered therapies, such as somatic experience, which focus on releasing stored tension and trauma from the body.
Somatic techniques, including breathwork, movement, and body awareness exercises, help explore and heal emotional wounds stored in the body.
I use a humanistic therapy approach that emphasizes authenticity, openness, and genuineness, along with active listening and unconditional positive regard, to foster self-awareness, self-worth, and personal growth in all individuals.
The types of humanistic therapy I focus on are client-centered therapy and existential therapy. The client-centered approach encourages individuals to reflect on and clarify their thoughts, allowing them to better understand themselves and, in turn, shift their thoughts, feelings, and beliefs. On the other hand, existential therapy delves into a person’s search for meaning in life, particularly in the face of uncertainty, conflict, loss, and grief. The goal is to help individuals recognize their ability to direct their behavior positively and achieve their desired goals.
Having experienced my own trauma, I’ve become deeply interested in understanding its long-term impact and discovering ways to promote lifelong healing. This personal journey led me into the field of social work and continues to inspire my path toward becoming a provisional psychologist.
I believe that active listening is a crucial skill in all counselling sessions, as it demonstrates empathy and provides the opportunity to build a strong therapeutic alliance.
Every person wants to be heard and understood, as it provides validation, encourages reflection, and creates an opportunity for change. I feel privileged to be part of someone’s journey as they share their story, and I deeply respect the vulnerability it takes to do so. Above all, I strive to embody authenticity, compassion, transparency, and empowerment, helping individuals develop the skills they need to continue growing and thriving.

Wendy Davies RP
Registered Psychologist (RP)
I’m an individual and couples therapist specializing in relationships, anxiety, and trauma.
My goal as a therapist is to support clients in moving from a place of feeling stuck, unfulfilled, and disconnected toward a life filled with meaning, purpose, and connection. I want to help you break free from the cycle of “I’ll be happy when…” and instead find joy in the process of self-discovery, growth, and new possibilities.
It takes courage to admit that something isn’t working and to reach out for support. I understand—because I’ve been there too. I strive to be the person I needed in those difficult moments, and I don’t take that responsibility lightly.
If you know something needs to shift but aren’t sure where to begin, I’m here to help—bringing not only specialized training, but also the insight that comes from lived experience.
The way we see the world—and ourselves—is shaped by our relationships.
My therapeutic practice is rooted in relationships. I truly believe that when we take a closer look at symptoms of depression or anxiety, they are often deeply connected to our relationships—especially those formed in early childhood. Our relationships shape how we see the world and ourselves. Healing often begins by exploring our personal experiences within these connections. We all have the power to rewrite our stories and move forward feeling healthier and more fulfilled.
Many couples come to me feeling disconnected, struggling with communication, yet still holding a strong desire to reconnect and rediscover the spark they once shared. My approach to relationship repair is strongly influenced by the Gottman Institute and focuses on effective communication, boundary setting, and mindfulness. If your goal is to rebuild and strengthen your relationship, we can work together to repair those fractures and help you get back on the same page.
I believe in the tools I use as a therapist because they address the root cause of the problem and foster lasting change.
My approach is person-centred and tailored to each individual’s unique goals, values, and hopes for their life and relationships. I am certified in several evidence-based modalities, including The Gottman Method, which is backed by nearly 40 years of research on relationship longevity. I also draw from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and EMDR—all of which are effective in treating depression, anxiety, and trauma.
I view therapy as a collaborative and holistic process. Together, we’ll explore the root of what’s going on, understand what’s driving it, and determine the most effective path forward. Helping people heal from depression, anxiety, and trauma is what I’m truly meant to do. Even from a young age, I’ve been someone others turn to when they need to feel understood and supported.
You don’t have to struggle alone—I’m here to offer person-centered support, with a gentle dose of humor along the way.
My office is a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can speak freely and explore even their darkest thoughts and beliefs. I don’t see myself as leading the therapeutic process—instead, I aim to be the flashlight that helps illuminate the path forward. I believe every person has the strength within themselves to heal and create meaningful change. My commitment is to provide flexible, honest, and approachable support, so clients feel comfortable and empowered as they navigate their healing journey.
At the heart of my work is a desire to help build stronger communities by uplifting and supporting each individual within them.

I specialize in helping adults manage and heal from trauma, depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and a range of other life challenges.
“I did not ask for the things I’ve been through. And I certainly didn’t ask my mind to paint and repaint the pictures back in flashback form.” – Michelle Groth.
Life can be full of contradictions—it’s where we discover passion, meaning, and joy, yet it’s also where we encounter some of our deepest sorrows. I experienced trauma early in my life, and its impact still lingers. Sadly, this is not uncommon. Most of us carry the weight of difficult experiences that shape how we move through the world. Our family bonds, friendships, relationships, and—most importantly—our relationship with ourselves are often challenged along the way.
While facing these feelings alone can sometimes feel like strength, I believe true strength lies in confronting and working through the pain, anger, and hurt that hold us back. That’s where healing begins.
Let’s work together to help you reach your goals and create a space that empowers you to reclaim your life.
When we’re physically hurt—whether it’s a cold, a broken bone, or a scraped knee—we instinctively take steps to heal. But too often, we overlook the pain others can’t see. Mental and emotional wounds deserve the same care and attention.
Let’s take the first step together.
Depending on your unique needs, we may use approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Psychodynamic Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), and more to support your healing journey.
I strongly believe that the connection I build with my clients creates a safe space for them to flourish and bring forth the strengths they already hold within.
Beyond therapeutic techniques, the relationship between you and your therapist is essential. When I think of this connection, words like empathy, trust, and compassion come to mind. You are the expert on your own life—and in a safe, open environment, we can work together to uncover and strengthen the qualities you already possess, helping you reclaim your confidence, optimism, and resilience.

Registered Psychologist (RP)
I specialize in supporting adult and youth (10+) clients with their mental health and well-being, providing guidance and tools to better cope and thrive in life.
With four years of professional experience in the mental health field, I spent two years implementing behavioral and mental health programs in educational settings, and another two years working as a psychologist in a non-profit organization.
I specialize in supporting youth and young adults navigating challenges related to life transitions, gender identity, anxiety, depression, boundaries, healthy relationships, and coping strategies, and more.
My therapeutic approach begins with building a strong, trusting relationship with each client, as I believe this foundation is key to effective therapy. I prioritize person-centered therapy, tailoring each session to the individual’s unique needs. Once a safe and trusting environment is established, we collaborate to determine the most suitable therapeutic strategies for their unique circumstances. I incorporate a variety of evidence-based approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, solution-focused techniques, and strength-based care, adapting my methods to best address the issues at hand.
I emphasize creating a warm, safe, and trusting environment where clients can explore their needs and goals for change.
I believe that beneath every behaviour lies a feeling, and beneath each feeling is an underlying need. By addressing these needs, rather than focusing solely on behaviors, we can effectively tackle the root causes of challenges and foster deeper healing and growth.
In sessions, I work alongside clients to facilitate meaningful changes, offering encouragement and support. My goal is to be a reliable source of guidance, helping clients become empowered through psychoeducation and equipping them to navigate challenges independently.
I believe that every client’s unique background and identity play a crucial role in their therapeutic journey, and I strive to integrate this understanding into my practice.
I primarily work with individual (adult and youth 10+) clients addressing a range of concerns such as attachment and relationship issues, boundaries, identity development, gender dysphoria, anxiety, depression, and self-harm. My approach is informed by a commitment to creating a safe and supportive environment where clients feel empowered to explore their experiences while drawing on evidence-based modalities.
I also have a strong background in 2SLGBTQIA+ issues and a deep understanding of Indigenous cultures, which enhances my ability to provide culturally sensitive care.
My motivation and passion for being a psychologist stem from a deep commitment to supporting individuals in their journey toward mental well-being and personal growth.
Witnessing the transformative power of therapy inspires me daily, as I believe that everyone has the potential to overcome challenges and lead fulfilling lives. I am particularly drawn to working with youth and young adults, as I recognize the profound impact that early interventions can have on shaping their futures. The opportunity to create a safe space for clients to explore their thoughts and feelings, develop thriving skills, and foster resilience is incredibly fulfilling. I am dedicated to helping others navigate their unique struggles, and I find immense joy in being a catalyst for positive change in their lives.
My personal interests are diverse and continually evolving.
I have a strong appreciation for the outdoors and nature, particularly the mountains. Sports play a significant role in my life; I enjoy both participating in and watching various sports, and I dedicate every Sunday to watching football with my husband. I cherish quality time with friends and family, yet I equally value moments of solitude at home, where I can curl up on the couch with a captivating romantic fantasy novel, with my cats and a cup of coffee. Winter is my favorite season! I find joy in its unique beauty and atmosphere, and also love the opportunity to wear cozy sweaters.
I look forward to supporting you on your journey toward healing and helping you cultivate a life where you can truly thrive. Your experiences and feelings are important, and I am here to provide guidance and understanding as we work together toward your goals.

I work with children (6+), teens (13+), and parents navigating challenging times in their children’s lives. I also support adults (18+) dealing with mental health challenges and life stressors.
Working in mental health, especially with youth and teens, has always felt like my true calling. I’m passionate about learning about your unique situation and finding ways to ease the pain and discomfort you’re experiencing. Over the past 7 years, I’ve had the privilege of working with families in various settings, including hospitals, treatment centers, day programs, crisis lines, outreach, and now, private practice.
It’s common for families to describe their situation as ‘chaotic’ or ‘hostile’ when they first come in. Through our work together, we’ll find ways to create boundaries, transparency, and mutual respect. I provide a safe space to explore what’s troubling you, understand the pain you’ve experienced, and develop healthy communication and boundaries to help you live a more comfortable, fulfilling life.
I want to help transform your family and relational dynamics where you don’t feel stuck, isolated, and unable to navigate daily life.
I often include parents in the treatment process because I believe in the strength of the family unit and the importance of creating an environment where everyone can thrive. Many parents come in feeling unsure of how to support their child and confused about why their child is struggling. It’s common to experience guilt and anxiety when we don’t have the tools to navigate difficult situations. Parents often feel overwhelmed, unable to take time for themselves, and filled with doubt. My goal is to work collaboratively with families so that everyone feels heard, supported, and empowered as we work toward meaningful change.
While I specialize in working with children, youth, and families, my passion for counselling also extends to supporting adults facing a range of mental health challenges. These may include depression, anxiety, ADHD, OCD, substance use concerns, relationship difficulties, personality disorders, self-harm, and trauma.
I have a deep understanding of how our environments, relationships, work stressors, and life circumstances can shape our emotions, communication styles, attachments, and behaviors. I’m here to help you make sense of these experiences and find healthier, more effective ways to move forward.
I aim to help my clients better understand their struggles and develop effective coping strategies.
One of my favorite parts of this work is helping clients gain a deeper understanding of what they’re experiencing so we can get to the root of the problem. Being human today can feel more difficult than ever—pressures from finances, family, friends, work, intense emotions, and social media can be incredibly overwhelming. Without the right tools to manage these stressors, it’s easy to turn to unhelpful coping strategies like substance use, self-harm, or isolation. This is especially true for children, youth, and teens who are trying to navigate these challenges while still developing emotionally.
My goal is to help clients understand their struggles, build emotional awareness, and gain a sense of control over their behaviors and reactions. When you can recognize your emotions and use healthy coping tools, it becomes easier to return to your everyday activities without feeling held back by mental health challenges. This also creates an opportunity for better communication between parents who are seeking connection and youth or teens who are striving for independence.
I take a person-centered approach, meeting clients where they are and supporting them in getting to where they want to be.
So often, clients come to me feeling stuck, isolated, or hopeless that things can improve. Teenagers, like all of us, long to be understood, accepted, and free from the weight of their stress. They want to feel like they belong. At the same time, parents want to feel confident that their child is safe, supported, and making healthy choices—so they can finally breathe a little easier.
My approach to therapy is person-centered and grounded in compassion—free from judgment, blame, or shame. All emotions and experiences are welcome. Together, we’ll explore the challenges you’re facing and develop strategies to move through them, opening the door to new possibilities and meaningful goals for you and your family.
Let’s work together to help you achieve your goals and feel like yourself again.
Whether you’re a youth, teen, adult, or parent reading this, I want you to know—you are not alone. Many people struggle in silence, believing their experiences are unusual or that no one will truly understand. What you’re going through is valid, and you’re not the only one. I see you, and I understand. Let’s work together to create the change you want—and deserve—in your life.

I care about connecting deeply with my clients.
After navigating through my own mental health challenges, I can see how much someone’s life can be changed by facing their struggles head-on.
I also understand the uncertainty and fear that comes with reaching out for help, I felt that way too, but I also knew I had come to the point where I had to do the work to improve my life. Now, here I am, a practicum student working with others to create the change they want in their lives!
To me, therapy is about connection and the experience of being understood, authentic, and accepted for being exactly who you are. When someone feels seen and understood, that is where the magic happens. My goal is to help others find this ease within themselves and the confidence to navigate the world as their authentic selves.
My goal is to help you gain clarity about who you are and what you want.
I want to work with my clients to feel a sense of lightness again, so often, when we struggle, everything feels dark, heavy, and uncertain. When we begin the work of self-exploration and acceptance, we begin to see possibilities that were never there before.
When we have insights into who we are and how our struggles have impacted us, we can start seeing a way forward. We can accept where we are and take responsibility for moving forward; in fact, there is newfound motivation to create change.
I take a relational approach to therapy that includes a deep exploration of the Self.
I have always been drawn to the exploration of Self and how we accept and express who we are within relationships and our environment. My approach to therapy is person-centred, with an existential lens, and I use a lot of acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) in my work with clients. ACT is all about observing what arises without judgement, and getting a little distance from distressing thoughts and feelings so that we can engage in life in ways that are value-aligned, ways that matter to us. It is about being the person you want to be and living the life you want, regardless of suffering; we learn to respond flexibly to what comes up, and take our challenges/suffering along for the ride so that life becomes more rich instead of more restrictive. My work is also quite emotion-focused, and I have an emotion-focused and solution-focused lens in my work with couples.
I am particularly skilled in working with anxiety and related challenges.
We all have the ability to edit our stories and author our lives in a way that feels authentic to us and helps us live in alignment with our values. Even when faced with extreme anxiety or despair, or whatever challenge you are facing, we can always find choice, meaning and purpose.
We can create contentment, simplicity, and ease even through our struggles.
All of us are walking through life living a human experience, we experience all of life’s emotions, from intense pleasure to immeasurable and unavoidable pain. We all share this experience together.
When we fully embrace this truth and fully accept who we are we can find contentment and peace. When I was able to connect more deeply with my true nature and learned to respond more flexibly to distress, I felt vibrant again, like the clouds began to part; I took my life back. I want this for my clients!
My office will always be a place where you can feel comfortable being exactly who you are; there is no judgment here; I will meet you where you are at, with acceptance, and compassionately challenge you to grow. I believe that creating an environment full of compassion, trust, and a bit of fun leads to tremendous change.
Whether you are wanting to do some skill-building and personal growth, or you are quite unwell and facing challenges in functioning, I am here for you. I look forward to working with you, exploring who you are and the life you want, and witnessing you taking your life back.

Lori-Ann Huot
Certified Grief Specialist
I am a compassionate and experienced grief therapist, dedicated to helping clients navigate and make sense of the complexities of loss.
With experience as a grief specialist spanning over a decade, I have supported clients through a wide range of losses—including the death of a loved one, terminal illness, suicide loss, loss of a child or baby (including miscarriage and stillbirth), infertility, pet loss, relationship breakdowns, divorce or separation, job loss, loss of identity, loss of purpose, and more.
I work with individuals and couples who are grieving the loss of a loved one or facing other profound losses, offering support and guidance through their grief journey.
Whether grieving the death of a loved one, a stigmatized loss (such as suicide or miscarriage/stillbirth), or a less recognized loss (like the loss of a pet, relationship, or job), I’m committed to helping my clients integrate their losses into their lives, facilitating a path forward to lead rich and meaningful lives.
My approach recognizes the importance of challenging societal norms and fostering a more inclusive and compassionate understanding of grief.
I provide a safe, non-judgmental, and compassionate space for clients to explore their experiences of loss and grief. Using a client-centered, companioning approach, I help clients better understand their grief, discover meaningful ways to mourn, and support their healing—while also challenging the societal stigmas, beliefs, and expectations that often shape how grief is experienced.
My journey in grief counseling is rooted in my own personal experiences.
After the sudden loss of my mother at age 32 and experiencing the two baby girls through miscarriage, I was compelled to find purpose in my pain. This led me to begin my journey toward becoming a grief counsellor and coach. These first-hand experiences have given me a unique perspective, along with a deep empathy and understanding that I bring into my work with clients as they navigate their own grief.
My specialized training and diverse background have deeply influenced and shaped my approach to grief counselling.
I am a graduate of the Death & Grief Studies Program at the Center for Loss & Life Transition in Fort Collins, Colorado, where I received training and mentorship from world-renowned grief expert Dr. Alan Wolfelt. This specialized training has informed my 12 years of experience, during which I have guided hundreds of clients through the complex process of healing from loss. In addition to my private practice work at Onyx, I serve as the Grief & Bereavement Navigator with the Hospice Society of Camrose & District, providing counselling to those affected by the grief of end-of-life or the death of a loved one.

My interest in this career path began with volunteering at a local counseling center, where I witnessed firsthand how physical, psychological, and social harm stemming from mental health issues can impact an individual’s life. This experience solidified my belief in the potential for individuals to manage and overcome these challenges through the support and guidance of helping professionals. The opportunity to assist clients in overcoming obstacles and achieving their goals is what has fueled my passion for this field.
I am committed to a client-centered, collaborative, and strength-based approach to therapy.
I believe in trusting clients as the ultimate decision-makers and architects of their own lives. Client-centered therapy reframes the clinician’s role, recognizing the client as the greatest authority in their journey of personal change. The therapeutic relationship is the foundation of meaningful growth, and while clients guide their own path, I see my role as one of support and guidance throughout the process. I also believe that individuals inherently possess the tools and self-awareness to address the challenges they face.
I uphold the values of openness, respect, curiosity, and accountability in my work.
The counseling process brings together diverse perspectives, values, and cultural experiences, which requires a counselor to approach each session with openness to diversity and a willingness to embrace ideas beyond their own. Respect is the cornerstone of the counselor-client relationship, enabling meaningful interactions and fostering deeper understanding. I approach each individual with curiosity and a non-judgmental mindset, embracing the stance of not-knowing to facilitate exploration and growth. Lastly, I prioritize accountability, recognizing the responsibility counselors have in acknowledging their privileges and biases while practicing with clients from all walks of life.
My focus is on supporting teenagers and young adults during what can be an intense and transformative stage of life.
This period is often marked by significant changes in autonomy, identity, and external pressures such as social media, world events, peer influence, and self-esteem issues. These challenges can contribute to feelings of hopelessness, sadness, anxiety, and anger. I work collaboratively with clients to develop coping skills, understand and manage distressing thoughts and emotions, and cultivate self-worth and self-compassion. My goal is to create a safe, non-judgmental space where individuals can express themselves freely and work toward achieving the personal goals they set for themselves.

Samantha Naidu RPP
Registered Provisional Psychologist (RPP)
I am a skilled and compassionate therapist who works with teens, adults, and couples who have experienced trauma, anxiety, abuse, grief, and those who are struggling with stress, coping or substance use.
With over eight years of experience in the addiction and mental health field, I’ve had the privilege of working with diverse populations and a wide range of psychological concerns in both community and private practice settings. My areas of expertise include trauma, addiction, depression, and anxiety. I have extensive experience supporting individuals who have faced various forms of trauma, including PTSD, childhood trauma, domestic violence, medical trauma, race-based trauma, traumatic grief, and sexual abuse.
When working with couples, my goal is to help clients build and sustain healthy, fulfilling relationships. I support couples in improving communication, deepening emotional connection, and navigating conflict with greater understanding. My approach is focused on helping you better understand your relationship dynamics and develop effective conflict resolution skills. I’ve worked with couples facing a variety of concerns such as communication breakdowns, intimacy issues, trust and infidelity, and major life transitions.
Coping strategies are a vital part of maintaining our mental well-being.
Since coping skills are the tools we use to navigate life’s challenges, I believe it’s essential to explore strategies for emotional regulation and skill-building in our work together. My goal is to help you develop new tools to manage stress and navigate difficult situations more effectively. Healthy coping strategies can include strengthening problem-solving abilities, enhancing emotional regulation, practicing mindfulness, and improving communication skills. These skills can lead to meaningful, positive changes in your daily life.
My practice is rooted in helping clients work toward mental wellness and meaningful personal growth.
While I have training in a variety of evidence-based therapeutic approaches, I lead with a person-centred philosophy. This means I will meet you where you are in your journey and walk alongside you as you work toward healing and a more fulfilling life. I believe that each person brings their own unique experiences, challenges, and strengths to the therapeutic process. Because of this, I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Instead, I use an integrated style, drawing from multiple evidence-based practices to tailor treatment to your individual needs and goals.
My aim is to empower you to regain a sense of control and confidence in your life. At the heart of my approach is building a genuine, trusting connection—I truly believe that the therapeutic relationship is key to making our work together meaningful and effective. I strive to create a safe, supportive space where you can explore, heal, and grow. I look forward to being a part of your journey!

I specialize in working with both teens (12+) and adults.
I have a special interest and experience working with teen clients (12+) and young adults as they navigate a range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, abuse, low self-esteem, suicidal ideation, eating disorders, school stress, friendship and relationship issues, behavioural concerns, body image, emotional regulation, peer pressure, neurodiversity, substance use, family dynamics, and academic struggles.
Today’s teens face immense pressure, and coping with life’s challenges can feel overwhelming. In a constantly changing world, parents may often feel helpless in supporting their children through these struggles. I provide a safe, supportive space where youth can openly express themselves without fear of being dismissed, judged, or controlled. Together, we work on building healthy boundaries, improving communication, understanding relationships, managing emotions, and developing healthier coping strategies.”
I also work with adults experiencing a range of mental health concerns, including trauma and PTSD, anxiety, depression, stress, phobias, chronic pain, parenting challenges, and more. Just like my work with teens, my goal is to support adults in learning to cope, heal, and thrive. Life transitions can bring complex and confusing challenges, and day-to-day demands can often feel overwhelming. My therapy space offers a supportive environment where you can explore past and present experiences, process emotions, gain self-understanding, and develop strategies and skills to move toward healing and growth.
I take the time to truly listen and understand my clients—their experiences, concerns, and what they’re going through—creating a space where they feel seen, heard, and validated.
Sometimes our experiences and emotions can feel overwhelming and difficult to manage on our own.
When personal experiences and emotions become overwhelming, they can lead to struggles such as anxiety, negative thoughts, difficulty enjoying life, identity confusion, and a sense of losing control. These challenges can also impact our relationships and overall well-being. But there is hope—therapy can offer a path forward.
I’m here to support you in making sense of your experiences and finding effective ways to cope. Naming and facing the emotions that come with trauma or mental health challenges is not easy. My goal is to meet you where you are and walk alongside you as you process your experiences, challenge unhelpful thought patterns, and build practical skills to manage personal and relational difficulties.
My approach is integrative and draws from a variety of evidence-based methods, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), hypnosis, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and more.
You don’t have to go through this alone—I’m here to support you on your mental health journey.
Using an integrative, client-centered approach, I draw from a variety of techniques to collaboratively create a treatment plan that fits your unique needs. Together, we’ll set meaningful goals and develop a course of action that feels right for you. Let’s take the first steps toward positive change.

I work with adults and couples to navigate life and relationship challenges.
I know that the idea of starting therapy can bring up a lot of feelings—nervousness, uncertainty, maybe even hesitation. Whether this is your first time exploring therapy or you’re looking for a new therapist after past experiences, it’s completely understandable to feel unsure about what lies ahead. You might be wondering if you’ll feel comfortable, if we’ll be a good fit, or if this time will truly help. All of those feelings are valid and so normal. If you feel that I might be the right fit for you, I’d be truly honoured to walk alongside you on your mental health journey.
No matter where you’re starting from, I will meet you there. Together, we’ll map out a personalized plan for therapy that supports your mental health goals. If you’re feeling like something needs to change but aren’t quite sure what that is, I’m here to help you explore and navigate this uncertain time in your life. We’ll move at your pace and comfort level as we work toward your well-being.
I work specifically with adults and couples who are navigating challenges that impact their mental health and well-being. These may include anger, stress, unhealthy coping habits, lack of boundaries, divorce or separation, self-harm, anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, communication difficulties, and relational conflicts.
“All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us” – J. R. R. Tolkien.
I encourage my clients to show up as their true selves—not who they think they need to be. Throughout our work together, we’ll be learning and uncovering things side by side, and that process is most effective when we’re both being genuine. Therapy can sometimes feel uncomfortable or even messy, but I believe that short-term discomfort is a worthwhile step toward long-term growth and healing.
I take an eclectic approach to therapy, drawing from a variety of therapeutic interventions tailored to meet your unique needs.
I am trained in several therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy, and the Gottman Method. I also incorporate techniques from strength-based, person-centered, and Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT) to best support your individual needs.
I don’t believe there’s a one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. That’s why we’ll work together to clarify your needs and goals, and select the therapeutic approaches that best support you.
I’m a lifelong learner, continually expanding my knowledge, skills, and experience through ongoing training, staying current with the latest research, and consulting with colleagues and my supervisor. I’m committed to bringing my best self as a therapist into every session with you.
I believe that small, intentional changes can create meaningful progress and lead to lasting positive outcomes over time.
I am committed to providing a safe, non-judgmental, and supportive environment where clients can openly explore vulnerable issues, develop self-awareness, heal from emotional wounds, build healthier coping strategies, overcome challenges, and enhance their overall mental health and well-being.
Both my personal and professional experiences—and witnessing growth in others—have deepened my passion for supporting people through this work. My goal is to help clients move toward becoming their best selves and living more fulfilling lives. It’s a privilege to walk alongside you on your therapeutic journey and to witness your progress.

Registered Provisional Psychologist (RPP)
I work with adults and couples, specializing in a wide variety of relationship and emotional struggles.
I believe the relationship you build with your therapist is one of the most important factors in your healing journey. My goal is to walk alongside you with compassion—always recognizing that you are the expert in your own life—and to support you in finding the clarity, peace, and answers you’re seeking. My hope is that our work together helps you trust your experiences, connect with your emotions, and build safe, affirming relationships with both yourself and others.
Are you feeling disconnected in your relationship? Struggling to feel heard, or stuck in unhelpful patterns? Or perhaps you’re looking to be proactive—investing in your relationship and deepening your understanding of your partner or yourself. I’m passionate about supporting adults and couples navigating attachment issues, emotional struggles, and relationship dynamics. I also offer preventative support, including premarital counselling.
“Before every session, I take a moment to remember my humanity. There is no experience that I cannot share, no fear that I cannot understand, no suffering that I cannot care about, because I too am human.” - Carl Rogers
Practicing from an attachment based lens, primarily using Emotionally-Focused Therapy, I view emotions as important signals and agents of change that we can be curious about and learn from to help us feel more connected in our lives. Our emotions and relationships give colour to our world, and many of our struggles can be traced back to difficult emotional experiences in our past relationships. I also intentionally use other approaches like the Gottman Method, tailored to your needs, integrating mindfulness and other coping strategies to build your toolbox.
Whether you’re seeking insight into past patterns, support with present challenges, or tools for the future, it would be a privilege to be part of your journey.
Choosing to trust someone with your inner world is no small step, but a leap of faith. My clients can always expect compassion, respect, and a healthy dose of humor to help brighten even the toughest days.

Sydney Tkachuk RP
Registered Psychologist (RP)
I am passionate about working alongside adults, adolescents, and children (6+) who face challenges related to trauma and neurodivergence.
Over the years, I have gained diverse experience in the mental health field, collaborating with vulnerable populations and individuals on the neurodivergent spectrum. My previous roles include serving as a behavioral interventionist for young children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and supporting youth healing from sexual trauma. I’ve also volunteered as a crisis line operator, providing support and resources to individuals in emotional distress.
As a Registered Psychologist, my current areas of focus include posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), sexual trauma, ASD, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), anger, anxiety, depression, suicidality, and other mental health concerns.
My aim is to help clients address challenges such as establishing boundaries, improving communication, managing relational difficulties, regulating emotions, modifying behaviors, and shifting thinking patterns.
Ultimately, my primary role is to act as a guide to help you navigate and process the obstacles that come with both current and past trauma, with the goal of improving daily functioning.
My growth and healing approach to therapy integrates multiple modalities designed to empower those seeking support to be able to express their authentic selves without the pressure of needing to mask.
In our time together, you have the freedom to be whoever you want, not who you think you’re supposed to be. I value your unique contributions, and your treatment plan will be tailored to your specific needs and circumstances.
I utilize various methods to help facilitate change, including dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), emotion focused therapy (EFT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), somatic therapy, and other evidence-based approaches.
I truly believe in the power of the healing journey and how this transformative process can lead to impactful breakthroughs.
As a therapist who has also participated in personal therapy, I understand how intimidating and overwhelming the experience can be. If I have the privilege of being your therapist, I will strive to create an environment where you feel safe and heard. Fostering a foundation of safety is highly important to me as it allows my clients to feel comfortable being vulnerable.
Trust is key to building security in the therapeutic relationship. You need to feel that you can let your guard down, and I value developing a strong therapeutic connection from our very first session. This bond often marks your first step toward healing.
I firmly believe that all individuals have the potential to grow and evolve. Wherever you are on your healing journey, I am ready to work alongside you.
It is important to recognize that healing is not a linear process. I want you to know that you will not be alone in its unpredictability, nor will you face these challenges alone—we will struggle and work through them together to establish stability and allow for growth.
The progress you’ve made to get to this point is a testament to your resilience. If I’m fortunate enough to work with you, I want you to know that I am proud of you for taking this leap. I will be a pillar of support for you on your mental health journey towards healing and wellness.

RSW
Registered Social Worker (RSW)
I specialize in supporting individuals through challenging life transitions, relationship issues, anxiety, depression, abuse, grief, and trauma.
With over 13 years of experience in both clinical and community settings, I prioritize trauma-informed care and cultural sensitivity in my approach. I’m deeply committed to supporting vulnerable populations and individuals affected by trauma, marginalization, and oppression. I work with a diverse range of clients, including both younger and older adults, who face complex needs and mental health challenges.
I often work with individuals and couples who recognize that something in their life needs to change—their current approach no longer works, but they’re unsure of what the next step should be. Big emotions like overwhelm, loss, hurt, and distress can make moving forward feel difficult. I see therapy as a powerful first step toward meaningful change, and I’m here to support my clients as they transition into the next phase of their lives. I believe deeply in their ability to grow and heal, and I work to empower them to take control of their lives and their journey.
I bring a unique perspective grounded in social justice, attachment theory, and emotional-focused care.
During my time working within the healthcare system and senior programs, I witnessed firsthand the discrimination and prejudice that many individuals—especially those from marginalized communities—face, particularly when dealing with mental health concerns. These experiences led me to realize that I could make a more meaningful impact through private practice, where I could support individuals beyond crisis management by addressing their psychosocial and spiritual needs in daily life.
I was driven to offer deeper, more consistent support to those feeling overwhelmed by multiple stressors, especially when they lack a support system or access to helpful resources. My goal is to help individuals navigate their challenges by recognizing their own strengths and unique abilities, while also equipping them with tools and coping strategies to create the life they’ve always envisioned for themselves.
My approach is rooted in compassion, respect, and collaboration.
I offer a holistic and personalized approach to therapy, drawing from various modalities including Narrative Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Solution-Focused Therapy. I believe that every person has a unique story that deserves to be fully heard and understood.
My attachment-based perspective recognizes that we are all shaped by our relationships—with family, community, and the world around us. These connections influence how we experience life and navigate challenges. In our work together, my goal is to deeply understand your experiences and provide a safe, supportive space where you feel seen, heard, and valued.
