Mental Health Therapist (MHT)

This designation is NOT covered under ANY insurance plans.

I support adults in managing psychological challenges and enhancing their emotional well-being.

Life can feel overwhelming at times. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, stress, burnout, relationship challenges, self-doubt, or simply feeling disconnected from yourself, you don’t have to navigate it alone.

I believe therapy should be a place where you feel genuinely seen, heard, and understood.

My goal is to create a warm, supportive, and non-judgmental space where you can show up exactly as you are. Together, we’ll explore the challenges you’re facing, uncover patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and work toward meaningful, lasting change.

As a graduate of City University’s Master of Counselling Psychology program, I am currently practicing as a Mental Health Therapist while awaiting formal registration with the College of Alberta Psychologists. I provide care in alignment with the ethical standards and professional guidelines established by our regulatory body, ensuring that the support you receive is accountable, evidence-based, and client-centered.

My approach to therapy is rooted in the understanding that every person’s story is unique.

My practice is built on the belief that effective therapy requires moving beyond rigid, one-size- fits-all diagnostic models. Instead, I take the time to understand your experiences, values, relationships, cultural background, and personal strengths so that our work together reflects who you are and what matters most to you.

I view mental wellness through a holistic lens that integrates rigorous, evidence-based research with deep cultural humility and ethical care. In our work together, we won’t just treat symptoms; we can explore how broader systemic factors, your unique cultural background, institutional pressures, and your individual, deeply personal life story intersect to shape your current reality and well-being.

My clinical focus centers on supporting individuals who are navigating the modern landscapes of stress, high demand, and identity evolution.

I am particularly passionate about supporting adults unpack the multi-layered nature of anxiety, chronic stress, burnout, perfectionism, life transitions, identity exploration, and the pressures of balancing work, relationships, and personal expectations. In today’s fast-paced world, many people find themselves carrying the weight of constant demands while struggling to find space for themselves. Therapy can offer an opportunity to slow down, reconnect with your needs, and develop healthier ways of coping and thriving.

I also have a strong interest in working with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds and strive to provide therapy that is culturally responsive, inclusive, and respectful of your lived experience.

I recognize that mental health is influenced not only by what happens internally, but also by the environments, systems, relationships, and communities we move through every day.

My work is informed by evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, mindfulness-based practices, and trauma-informed care. Rather than following a rigid formula, I tailor therapy to meet your individual needs, goals, and strengths.

Above all, I believe that healing happens through connection.

The therapeutic relationship is one of the most important factors in creating meaningful change, and I am committed to building a relationship based on trust, compassion, authenticity, and collaboration. You are the expert on your life, and my role is to walk alongside you, offering guidance, support, and practical tools as you move toward greater clarity, resilience, and well-being.

Taking the first step toward therapy can feel intimidating, but you don’t have to have everything figured out before reaching out. Wherever you are in your journey, I would be honoured to support you.

Mental Health Therapist (MHT)

This designation is NOT covered under ANY insurance plans.

I am a mental health therapist primarily

supporting adult clients (18+) with their mental health and wellness.

I recently completed my Masters of Counselling Psychology internship at Onyx and I am currently working as a mental health therapist while awaiting licensing with the College of Alberta Psychologists.

My interest in this career path began with volunteering at a local counselling centre, where I witnessed firsthand how physical, psychological, and social harm stemming from mental health issues can impact an individual’s life. This experience solidified my belief in the potential for individuals to manage and overcome these challenges through the support and guidance of helping professionals. The opportunity to assist clients in overcoming obstacles and achieving their goals is what has fueled my passion for this field.

I am committed to a client-centered, collaborative, and strength-based approach to therapy.

I believe in trusting clients as the ultimate decision-makers and architects of their own lives. Client-centered therapy reframes the clinician’s role, recognizing the client as the greatest authority in their journey of personal change. The therapeutic relationship is the foundation of meaningful growth, and while clients guide their own path, I see my role as one of support and guidance throughout the process. I also believe that individuals inherently possess the tools and self-awareness to address the challenges they face. I sincerely believe that meaningful change begins with feeling understood. Which can be accomplished through the creation of a supportive therapeutic environment, where individuals can openly explore challenges and strengths at their own pace.

I uphold the values of openness, respect, curiosity, and accountability in my work.

The counselling process brings together diverse perspectives, values, and cultural experiences, which requires a counsellor to approach each session with openness to diversity and a willingness to embrace ideas beyond their own. Respect is the cornerstone of the counsellor-client relationship, enabling meaningful interactions and fostering deeper understanding. I approach each individual with curiosity and a non-judgmental mindset, embracing the stance of not-knowing to facilitate exploration and growth. Lastly, I prioritize accountability, recognizing the responsibility counsellors have in acknowledging their privileges and biases while practicing with clients from all walks of life.

My focus is on working with young adults to help navigate life transitions, identity development, and the

emotional challenges that arise during this stage of life.

This period is often marked by significant changes in autonomy, identity, and external pressures such as social media, world events, peer influence, and self-esteem issues. These challenges can contribute to feelings of hopelessness, sadness, anxiety, and anger. I work collaboratively with clients to develop coping skills, understand and manage distressing thoughts and emotions, and cultivate self-worth and self-compassion. My goal is to create a safe, non-judgmental space where individuals can express themselves freely and work toward achieving the personal goals they set for themselves.
